Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris, born October 20, 1964, is an American politician and lawyer. She is currently the 49th vice president of the United States. She is the first vice president to be female and the highest-ranking female official in U.S. history, as well as the first African American and first Asian American vice president. As a member of the Democratic Party, she has been attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017, and as an United States senator representing California until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to being enlisted into the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and then to the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. In 2003, she became the San Francisco district attorney. In 2010 Harris was elected Attorney General for California. Harris was elected again in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California from 2017-2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the first African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who worked for health care and federal de-scheduling of cannabis. A pathway to citizenship for undocumented migrants. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. The attention of the nation was drawn by her sharp questions of Trump administration officials at Senate sessions. The most notable was Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual misconduct.
